Tao is a 14 year old boy that likes to draw and paint. He has a bad foot. He is still alive because his mom protected him from it. Tao is an orphan because his mom died. The only person that took care of him a nice elder woman named Kala. Kala won't tell him what happened to his father but she will tell him about his mother. Her name is Vedra she died when she was just a girl. She was sweet and did not want to give up Tao when he was a baby. He was suppose to be left for the hyenas to eat him but Vedra fought and would not let them take him. Tao likes to draw but this is taboo and this distracts him from hunting. Tao decides to not to hunt with the others, so decides live on his own.
